Experience the simple life in this complete ‘off the grid’ eco cottage situated close to Innes National Park and some of Yorke’s most spectacular beaches. The perfect romantic retreat away from life’s pressures. Enjoy the stillness on the front deck made from the old Alrhorp Island jetty. Enjoy just being cozy inside or take a short drive into the beautiful Innes National park or to one of the many quiet beaches to walk, surf, swim, fish , snorkel etc. The cottage is made from 100% recycled materials , is the first home in Marion Bay to run purely on solar power and also to have a complete working chimney with Thermolux wood powered oven ,stove and heater . The house also stays warm in winter due to the clever solar hot water heater and insulated well in summer for coolness when it’s hot outside . The cottage runs purely off 100% rain water with pristine , clear drinking water and don’t be surprised if you see an emu , chicken, duck or galah or two when looking out the window in the morning.

Due to the house using an environmental waste cycle unit it is important to not allow chemicals down the drains as well as waste down the sinks. By no means are any sanitary products to go down the toilet. Only toilet paper and your human waste is to be flushed. Use the bin next to the toilet for anything else. You will notice some special gifts for you to try and have as part of your stay to use if you do not have your own chemical free shower products. The kitchen sink plugs have a waste filter to stop it going down the drain. This instead just goes in the bin. By no means are fish to be cleaned , gutted or scale on the property, including inside the house. Rain water for out tanks is our sole supply so respect with water usage is appreciated over the warmer months. A full plumbing fee will be charged to you if the septic system is to be serviced due to items unnecessarily flushed or put down drains
